Kickoff Information

Thank you to those who were able to attend our information session last month! And welcome to those who are new to the LBS HealthTech Challenge!

As the new calendar year and Round 1 application opening date approaches, we want to reshare the session materials as a reminder of key competition details (incl. structure, timeline, eligibility requirements, and judging criteria). You can find the session materials below:

Some themes we discussed from audience Q&A included:

  • Judging criteria: Ideas will be evaluated across 4 categories (Scientific/technical feasibility, Potential impact, Feasibility of execution plan, Skills/expertise of team) - the exact rubric weighting will be aligned with judges and shared by Jan 1st, when the Round 1 applications open

  • Idea eligibility: Products that are a “standalone app” are not eligible. However, if the software is part of a broader solution then it is eligible. To get a further sense of eligible ideas, you can also browse our comprehensive list of past winners here.

  • Participant eligibility: Teams comprised of 1 person are eligible to apply, but we recommend including a diversity of skillsets in each team.

We were also joined by panelists Dr. Christopher Wall from Myocaid (2024 winner) and Dr. Roomi Chowdhury and Matthew Payne from HealthTech 1 (2022 winner), who shared reflections on their HealthTech Challenge and startup journeys - we are incredibly grateful to have learnt from their experiences and insight!

Thank you and we look forward to your Round 1 applications in January!
